Akamai DASH Support Player
Please Note, as of v2.3 The Akamai support player has been updated! Both in location and functionality! We are moving to players.akamai.com
host and will also have a redirect from legacy support.akamai.com/dash/. This way we are consistent with all players and can support HTTPS.
The new Akamai support player is a skinned version of the Dash IF Reference player with support for AMD Token Auth.
This adds new features such as audio and video track switching. We removed the in-page debug panel in favor of the browsers debug console.

Akamai Dash Extensions (AMD Token Auth)
- If you are using dash.js
with Akamai Token Authentication you should download and integrate
Akamai Dash.js Lib
into your player.
Debugging Tips
- Start with the public release of the Official DASH Support Player.
- If your stream fails to start, please check the browser's console for 404 (MPD file or media fragments) as well as check for Access-Denied errors which indicates an issue with the server's HTTP access control (CORS)
- If viewing the console does not reveal anything, the next step is to validate the MPD with this MPD Validation Tool.
- If there are no MPD validation errors, next please check the Dash.js Nightly Development Player.
- If no difference with the nightly player, check one or both of the competitor's players before you file a bug.
- Finally, you can File A Bug.
Other DASH Players
PLEASE READ. If Content plays in one or both of the follow players and not Dash.js what does this mean?
This does not directly indicate that there is a bug in Dash.js, there may be a DASH Specification compliance issue with the content!
Dash.js only runs in strict compliance mode while these other players will ignore aspects of the spec allowing mal formed content to play.
Please use the MPD Validation Tool and make sure the MPD is in compliance.
